6’1. And 3-4” heels. And a 4-5” crown. I love that she didn’t shrink or try to make herself smaller in any way! A true queen!

Thank you. You've brought to life one of the most wonderful voices I ever heard. There are resonances in her voice that very few other singers have, maybe Giorgia Todrani occasionally but she has a higher register. Rest In Peace Phyllis Hyman. I get ASMR when she speaks and sings.

My lord... She is breathtaking and extremely charming. So sad that she never found the love she yearned for. She also didn't realize how much she really was appreciated. Her music was more classy and wasn't hip, like all the other music that was out during her time. People were into disco, dance, R&B. She was more sophisticated. I just hate that her story ended the way it did.

Less than 8 years after this performance, I went to see this lady at "Blues Alley" in DC while she was promoting the exquisite "Living All Alone" LP. She was unbelievable during the concert with her vocal dexterity and that unique whistling style that only she possessed! I will never forget that impressive singing session . . . and that was the good part! Now the bad --- and this is where I knew she wasn't right! I don't know who said it (whether it was her from the stage or the overhead voice at concert's end), but she would be giving autographs outside her dressing room in 15 minutes. And back in the day, CDs would come in a long rectangular cardboard boxes with the album picture on it! So I saved that, and took it to the concert. I was in my Marine Corps 'Dress Blues' for the show, and I was going to take the signed picture back for my Marines. And because of how I was dressed, they put me at the front of the line. After about 20-30 minute wait (after the initial 15), someone came out and said, "Phyllis will not be signing any autographs tonight!" Thus, me and about 50 of her fans left --- surprised, shocked and disappointed! And although, I didn't know at that time . . . when she took her life, I was sad, but I wasn't surprised . . . because I knew something just wasn't right with her! Because sane people don't do people as such! Oh, well . . . #dountoothers
